In July 2020 the Edmonton CMA saw 78 Luxury Home sales above 700K in the region. This is up from 53 luxury homes selling in the Edmonton region in July of 2019, a 47% increase. July seemed a hot market across Canada with the most homes ever selling on the MLS platform in one month. Some of this activity is certainly attributed to pent-up demand.
The neighbourhood of Glenora saw the most expensive home sale in July at $1,783,000 which was sold close to the list price.
In contrast, in the Rural Markets surrounding the Edmonton CMA region, which includes Rural Sturgeon County, Rural Strathcona County, Rural Parkland County, Rural Wetaskiwin County, Rural Leduc County, and Rural St. Paul County 45 luxury homes sold in July of 2020. July 2020’s luxury sales represented a 114% increase over July of 2019 when 21 homes changed hands. River’s Gate in Rural Sturgeon County recorded the highest luxury home sale at $1,975,000.
